I think that what you posted made a bunch of sense. However, think on this, suppose you were to create a killer headline? I am not saying your content isn't solid, however what if you added a title to maybe get a person's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little vanilla. You could peek at Yahoo's front page and note how they write news headlines to grab viewers to click. You might add a video or a pic or two to grab readers excited about what you've written. Just my opinion, it might make your website a little livelier.
